A Cheyenne teen is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling a household member.

According to a booking sheet, police arrested 18-year-old Robert W. Jones at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Police say Jones had a probable cause affidavit for domestic violence/strangulation.

Police say the alleged incident occurred at 2 a.m. that morning in the 200 block of Stanfield Avenue.

Jones was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with strangulation of a household member, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and misdemeanor domestic battery.

Bond Set at $5K Cash

Jones made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Thursday, Dec. 5, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Dec. 13 at 9:45 a.m.
