Cheyenne Man Facing Felony Drug Possession Charges
A 37-year-old Cheyenne man is facing multiple charges, including felony drug possession charges, after being picked up on a warrant.
Police Spot Wanted Man
According to a booking sheet, a police officer was on patrol on Jan. 10 when he spotted Kelly James Person driving west on West 27th Street.
The officer says Person had a misdemeanor warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court for domestic battery, interference with an emergency call, and theft, that was signed by Judge Sean C. Chambers on Jan. 7.

The officer says Person drove north, parked near the intersection of Talbot Court and Dey Avenue, got out of the vehicle, and started walking on the sidewalk, and when he and other officers attempted to stop Person, Person fled south through multiple yards.
Person Found Hiding in Shed, Arrested
Person was found hiding in a shed in the backyard at 1215 W. 28th St., ordered out of the shed, and arrested.
The officer says the residents of the address said they didn't know Person and he was not allowed on the property.
Person was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he underwent the booking process without further incident.
Person Charged With Interference and Trespassing
Person was subsequently charged with two misdemeanors, including interference with a peace officer - no injury and criminal trespass.
Person was seen on his warrant on Jan. 13, during which his bond was set at $2,000 cash and his arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Person Served With 2 More Warrants
Then later that day, inmate Person was served with two more warrants out of Circuit Court.
A felony warrant signed by Judge Antoinette Williams for possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense and felony possession of methamphetamine.
And a misdemeanor warrant signed by Judge T.J. Forwood for probation violation with original charges of interference with a peace officer - no injury and possession of a controlled substance.
Person was seen on the warrants as well as the interference and trespassing charges stemming from his arrest the following day, Jan. 14.
Bond was set at $5,000 cash in the felony case and $1,000 cash in the probation violation case, and Person's preliminary hearing and arraignment were scheduled for Jan. 24 at 9:45 a.m.
Consecutive Bonds
All three bonds are consecutive to one another, meaning Person will have to post $8,000 cash to get out of jail.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
