The City of Cheyenne will host an open house on Thursday on a possible pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Interstate 25, according to a post on the city's Facebook page.

The meeting will be on Thursday, April 24, from 5-7 p.m. at the WYDOT Auditorium located at WYDOT's headquarters on Bishop Boulevard.

What Is The Purpose Of The Bridge?

According to the post, the goals of the bridge would be to:

- Provide safe pedestrian and bicycle connectivity (including future Greenway connections) across I-25, particularly to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, and
- Allow for a connection to a proposed parking lot on the west side of I-25 that could be used for events at Frontier Park, including Cheyenne Frontier Days. Access to the parking lot would be from an improved road that would parallel I-25 and connect to Randall Avenue.
The project is currently in the planning stages, according to the post. and is also under environmental review. You can learn more here.
