Cheyenne Has Least Snowy Start To Winter In 60 Years
While Cheyenne recently saw a stretch of brutally cold weather, it only got a dusting of snow.
In fact overall, this has been an unusually mild winter. While that mostly includes warmer than usual temperatures aside from this past weekend, it especially has been mild in terms of snowfall.
How mild? According to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says the city has only received 7.5 inches of snow.
That's the lowest amount for this point in the winter season in six decades. For comparison with some other generally less-snowy locations, the agency posted the following:on its Facebook page:
- Cheyenne has only received 7.5" of snow so far this season, which is the least snowy start to the season in 60 years. Several other typically much less snowy locations across the country, including Roswell, NM, Oklahoma City, and Washington, DC, have more season to date snowfall than Cheyenne!

It doesn't look like Cheyenne or Laramie will be deluged with snow in the next few days, either.
