Cheyenne Police Investigating Rash of Bike Thefts
Cheyenne police are asking for the public's help in finding a bike thief.
Sgt. David Janes says a mountain bike (similar to the one pictured above) was stolen from a home in the 3900 block of Carey Avenue sometime between 3:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. on March 30.
"Someone entered into a garage and stole a blue Pivot brand Mach 6 mountain bike valued at approximately $4,000," said Janes.
"The bike also had several upgrades that make it a little more identifiable, such as blue pedals, a white seat and brown grips with gold clamps," he added.
Janes says several other high-dollar bikes have also been taken from the area.
"Two were stolen off the back of a car recently and we've had several taken out of garages," said Janes. "I'm wondering if it's the same person walking around stealing them and taking them to Colorado and selling them."
Janes is asking anyone with information about the burglaries to call Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at (307) 638-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
