Cheyenne Man Arrested for Seriously Injuring ‘Significant Other’
A 19-year-old Cheyenne man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting his "significant other," sending her to the ICU.
According to Cheyenne Police Department spokeswoman Alex Farkas, officers were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call at a camper near the 4700 block of Cactus Way at about 12:19 a.m. this morning, June 15.
"Officers arrived to find that an aggravated assault had taken place," Farkas said in a news release.
"An unresponsive female victim was located with apparent signs of strangulation," Farkas added.
According to a booking sheet, police determined that Charles Rees Karn had pushed his significant other causing her to strike her head on a table near the bed and lose consciousness.
Farkas says the woman was taken by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where she remains for treatment of serious injuries.
Karn was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on charges of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, strangulation of a household member, and domestic battery.
As of 4 p.m. Thursday, he had yet to be formally charged.
