$15K Cash Bond Set for Cheyenne Transient in Unlawful Entry Case
Legal troubles continue to mount for a 20-year-old Cheyenne transient.
Felony Warrant
According to a booking sheet, police arrested DC Cathcart at a home in the 5100 block of Syracuse Road at 6:26 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16.
Cathcart reportedly had a warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court for unlawful entry into an occupied structure, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both; and breach of peace, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail, up to a $750 fine, or both.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred on or about Thursday, Jan. 8.
Initial Court Appearance
On Tuesday, Feb. 17, Cathcart was seen in Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.
Williams appointed Cathcart a public defender and set his preliminary hearing for Thursday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m.

Williams then asked for the state's position regarding bond.
"The state's going to recommend $15,000 cash," it said. "Mr. Cathcart is on probation for a reckless endangering involving a firearm. He also has criminal history, looks like indicates a simple assault. That pattern of behavior in conjunction with the nature of this crime indicates that Mr. Cathcart should be required to post some sort of cash bond."

"Is the state going to revoke," Williams asked.
"Yes, your honor," the state said.
Bond Set at $15,000 Cash
"Alright, your bond is $15,000 cash," Williams told Cathcart. "If you post that, I'll set your bond conditions."
"Can I get an OR bond," Cathcart asked Williams. "There's no possible way I can do that. I just started a new job."
"No, you cannot," Williams told Cathcart.
