Central Wyoming Rodeo Passes Halfway Point
The Central Wyoming Rodeo is one of many rodeos around the state and around the region so the cowboys and cowgirls are here, there, and everywhere. In Thursday night's session of the bareback, Jacek Frost of Browns Valley, California moved into 2nd place with an 86.5. Ethan Mazurenko of Kaycee is sitting 4th after an 83 while Kemmerer native Donny Proffit who competed for the University of Wyoming is 6th with an 81.5.
In the tie-down roping from Thursday, Hagen Houck from Comanche, Oklahoma posted 9 and 4 to take the lead in the event. Over in the bull riding, Scott Knapp of Albuquerque, New Mexico had a qualified ride of 82,5 and that puts him in a tie for 2nd. Also on Thursday, Coy Brittain of Rockwell, Texas along with Michael Fortenberry of Beaumont, Texas turned in a 5 and 4 in the team roping so they sit in a tie for 1st place in the average at 10 and 8 on 2
Friday night's session is the last chance to qualify for the championship short go on Saturday. The top 12 in each event earned a spot on Saturday night.
