Police have identified the suspect as 25-year-old Andrew Weaver of Cheyenne.


7:58 P.M. UPDATE:

Police say a man and woman were killed and two juvenile males seriously injured in a shooting in east Cheyenne late Monday afternoon.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says officers were dispatched to a shots fired call at 3436 E. 11th Street at 4:30 p.m.

"When officers arrived they found that four people had been shot and the suspect had fled the scene," he said.

Malatesta says the male suspect, whose name hasn't been released, was captured around 6:20 p.m. in a nearby field.

"We're going to wait to notify family before we release names of anybody," he said.​

Malatesta didn't know what the relationship between the victims and suspect was, and says "it's way too early" to tell what motivated the shooting.


UPDATE:

Police say "the suspect has been apprehended safely."

Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting in east Cheyenne.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says the incident occurred in the 3400 block of E. 11th Street.

"We have multiple people who were shot," he said.  "I can't confirm at this point in time how many people."

Malatesta says they're "still trying to confirm (the shooter's) identity."
