70 Plus MPH Winds, Blowing Snow In SE Wyoming Weekend Forecast

High Wind Watches have been posted for areas of southeast Wyoming for Saturday into Tuesday, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

While Cheyenne and Laramie are just outside of a watch area, the Summit between the two communities is included. That could have implications for Interstate 80 travelers over the next few day.

The agency posted the following on its website:

Feb. 21st, 5:15am - Long duration High Wind Watches have been issued for the typical windy areas of southeast Wyoming. Highs winds expected to begin Saturday evening and continue through Tuesday evening. A few lulls may be possible during this 3-Day Stretch. Wind gusts over 70mph are possible. Stay tuned for future updates, expansions, upgrades to warnings, and exact timing of strongest winds.
