4400 Have Voted Early In Laramie County Sixth-Penny Election
Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee says that as of Friday evening, about 10 percent of eligible Laramie County voters had cast early ballots in the 2017 sixth-penny sales tax election.
In raw numbers, that is just over 4400 voters, according to Lee. That total includes 3560 who have voted early in the Atrium of the Laramie County Governmental Complex and 822 who voted early and returned their ballot to the clerk's office.
Today (May 1) is the final day to vote early in the Atrium of the Governmental Complex. Early balloting will once again be held from 8:30 a.m. until 4;45 p.m. Absentee voters have until 7 p.m. on election day (May 2) to return their ballots to the county clerk's office. Under Wyoming law ballots returned after that deadline will not be counted in the election results. On election day the polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at 12 election centers across the county.
As was the case in the November 2016 general election, voters can cast ballots at any of the election centers across the county rather than at an assigned location.
The centers are the same ones as in the general election with one exception. Cheyenne Berean Church on Powderhouse Road will not be a voting center because the church was not available this time.
