Laramie County Clerk: Phony Voter Registration Scam Widely Reported
Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee says her office has been getting numerous reports from local voters about a phony voter registration email.
According to a release from Lee's office, the emails tell intended victims that they need to update their voter registration immediately or it will be cancelled. The emails tell recipients to click on links to update their information.
The emails are bogus and do not come from the county clerk or any Laramie County Office or agency.
How To Check Your Voter Registration
People who receive the emails are advised not to click the links in the emails. The release goes on to say To check your registration status, contact the Clerk’s office at 633-4242 or write election@laramiecountywy.gov. Beware of emails that ask you to click links to update your voter registration.
