Amber Ash, who has represented Ward 1 on the Cheyenne City Council for the past four years, says she is running for the open four  year seat on the Laramie County Commission as a Republican. Ash, who is 28, says one of her priorities if elected would be to improve the relationship between the commission and the Cheyenne City Council, which she says has became more adversarial over recent years.

County to Hire Lawyer For Partnership Issues

The Laramie County Commission has decided to hire an attorney to advise them on any legal issues pertaining to a proposed partnership between Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, according to Laramie County Commission Chair Gay Woodhouse.

Hansen To Run For Commission

Retired financial planner Art Hansen has declared his candidacy for the Laramie County Commission as a Republican. Hansen says that while he thinks the current commission is basically doing a good job, he does think the city and county governments could have a better working relationship. Hansen also says he thinks his background in financial planning could be helpful at a time when the county is facing funding challenges, which he says could continue until the price of natural gas goes up.
