Laramie County Commissioner Keith "Buck" Holmes says he's optimistic various groups and agencies can cooperate on developing a water conservation plan for the eastern part of the county.

Holmes says that while the county commission and Cheyenne City Council, for example, haven't always agreed on various issues, he's confident that "everyone is on board"  with developing a water conservation plan. Holmes points out Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) by itself probably uses more water than everyone else in the county combined.

The state Engineers Office has given Laramie County until April to develop a water conservation plan for the eastern part of the county.

Homes says he expects the makeup of a board that will study the issue will be announced at the regular commission meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
