Wyoming's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 6.3% in January, its lowest point since May 2009. David Bullard, senior economist with the Wyoming Department of Employment, says  the state gained 3,800 jobs between January 2010 and January 2011. The largest job gains were seen in natural resources and mining, including oil and gas, which added 2100 jobs. Bullard says educational and health services added 600 jobs and government added 500 jobs. He says more modest job gains were seen in professional and business services, transportation and utilities and construction. Over the year job losses in January occurred in retail trade and leisure and hospitality.
