Class ‘A’ Legion baseball teams will finish their regular season on Monday, while Class ‘AA’ teams are still playing key conference games this week and next week in Wyoming.

It is the 15th week of the season. There are no in-state tournaments for ‘AA’ teams this week, but some are headed out of state to Colorado or North Dakota.

MONDAY, JULY 12:

Final Score: Powell 5 Lovell 1 (conference game) - Pioneers get out to a 3-1 lead and seal it with 2 in the 7th. Stenerson had 2 hits & 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Powell 8 Lovell 1 (conference game) - After trailing 1-0, the Pioneers scored the next 8. Schwahn had 2 doubles & 2 RBI's.

Out-of-State Tournaments

Final Score: Gillette 3 Prior Lake, MN 2 (at Gopher Classic in Minnetonka, MN) - Holden gives up 2 unearned runs on 8 hits over 7 innings. An insurance run in the 6th proved to be the difference. K. Race had 1 hit & 1 RBI. Riders took advantage of 7 walks.

Final Score: Gillette 2 Chippewa Falls, WI 1 (at Gopher Classic in Minnetonka, MN) - Both teams score in the 4th inning. The difference was a Newlin sacrifice fly.

TUESDAY, JULY 13:

Final Score: Casper 9 Rock Springs 0 (conference game) - 4 pitchers combine on a 5-hit shutout for the Oilers. Wilcox & Locklin with 2 hits & 2 RBI's each.

Final Score: Casper 11 Rock Springs 0 (conference game) - Stowe & Pedersen combine on a no-hitter with 8K's and 1 BB. Pickett had a double & a triple, plus 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Evanston 11 Jackson 0 (conference game) - G. Allred throws a 2-hit shutout. Outlaws score 6 in the 4 to create the mercy rule. Wicks hit a 3-run HR. H. Allred 2 hits & 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Jackson 11 Evanston 7 (conference game) - A 4-run 5th propels the Giants to the split. VanSkike doubled, homered, and drove in 2. Bleggi adds 2 hits & 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Cheyenne Post Six 9 Sheridan 7 (conference game) - 2 insurance runs in the 6th help the Sixers hold off a Troopers comeback. Tafoya had 3 hits & 3 RBI's, while Costopoulos homered.

Final Score: Cheyenne 5 Sheridan 2 (8 inns.) (conference game) - Sixers rally and tie it with 1 run in the 7th and then score 3 in the 8th for the sweep. Costopoulos had the go-ahead RBI-2B in the 8th.

Out-of-State Tournaments

Final Score: Mankato National (MN) 5 Gillette 1 (at Gopher Classic in Minnetonka, MN) - semifinal - Riders fall 1 game short of the championship. Schilling had an RBI-1B, but the Riders were held to 6 hits.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 14:

Final Score: Laramie 7 Bozeman, MT 5 (9-inning game) - Rangers scored 4 in the 4th to take the lead for good and hold on. Laramie took advantage of 8 walks and 3 errors by the Bucks.

THURSDAY, JULY 15:

Final Score: Sheridan 11 406 Flyers (Laurel, MT) 3 - Troopers score 5 in the 4th and 4 in the 7th to pull away. Stowe had 3 hits & drove in 4 runs.

Final Score: Casper 6 Alliance, NE 2 - Oilers take the opener after an early 4-1 lead. Wagner led the offense with 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Alliance, NE 11 Casper 0 - Oilers held to 4 hits and had 4 errors on defense.

Final Score: Cheyenne Post Six 18 Oklahoma Travelers 18U 8 (at Tony Andenucio Tourney in Pueblo, CO) - Sixers jump out to an 8-0 lead and roll on. Romero leads the offense with 2 hits & 5 RBI's. Tafoya adds 3 hits & 2 RBI's.

Final Score: Rock Springs 10 Jackson 3 (conference game) - Stallions score 9 runs in the 3rd & 4th innings to break it open. Wheeler had 3 hits & drove in 2. Ross adds 3 hits. Johnson got the win on the mound.
