Wyoming High School Girls Basketball Pre-Season Rankings 2018-2019

The girls, like the boys, will have their opportunities to impress opponents, college recruiters, and the voters in the coaches/media rankings throughout the season.

Although 4A is now 16 teams, instead of 13, the voters are sticking with the top 3 teams from last season. In a close vote, Thunder Basin, defending champ Campbell County, and last season's runner-ups Cheyenne East are the top 3 ranked teams. After that, there's a large gap between #3 and #4. Kelly Walsh is the next team, followed by Cheyenne Central. All in all, 11 of the 16 teams got at least 1 vote.

Not much has changed in 3A from last season to this one. The 5 teams that dominated the rankings then, are doing the same now. Defending champ Douglas leads the way, followed by, Lyman, Buffalo, Powell and Mountain View. 3 of the 5 teams will play in Lovell to start the season, while Lyman and MV will host a tournament in Uinta County.

It's a close call in the 2A rankings, and the season will start with a #1 vs. #2 game. Wyoming Indian and Pine Bluffs will meet in Burns. The rest of the rankings have Greybull at #3, followed by Southeast and Big Horn. Defending champ Sundance, did not receive a vote going into the new season.

It's Cokeville and everyone else in the 1A rankings. Last year's runner-ups have double the vote total of #2 St. Stephens. It's the same teams as usual in the top 5. Farson-Eden is ranked #3, followed by defending champ Little Snake River at #4, and Lingle-Ft. Laramie at #5.
