Seasons are changing and so are the priorities of WYDOT (Wyoming Department of Transportation). They are preparing themselves for the challenging winter ahead.

With 54 locations throughout the Cowboy State, WYDOT crews are preparing for the predictable and challenging road conditions that await them in the months to come. Snow and wind often make for difficult road conditions for the crews that are tasked to maintain them.

WYDOT prepares for these conditions with something they call "snow plans", which help them determine winter maintenance priorities and where to effectively target levels of services on many roads and bridges throughout the state.

WYDOT likes to let drivers know that they are doing their best to have the roads prepared for safe travel, but they should also remember to leave early and take alternate routes to ensure safe and timely travels.
