After two local fast food restaurants were recently implicated in a money laundering scheme, diners in Cheyenne have been left with an interesting moral dilemma. If you order a carne asada burrito at 2 a.m., are you supporting a drug cartel?

Prosecutors claim both Rolando's Mexican Grill on Dell Range and Rodolfo's Mexican Grill on Lincolnway were part of a conspiracy to launder money for the Sinaloa drug cartel and are seeking the civil forfeiture of $1.5 million seized from bank accounts and safe deposit boxes linked the restaurants.

Attorneys for the restaurants claim their clients are involved in a legitimate business and have asked a federal court to return the money. No criminal complaints have been filed to date.

It's like an episode of the Netflix series Ozark right here in Cheyenne, only with tasty tacos, tortas, and tostadas. Social media reaction has been mixed, ranging from humor to outrage to sadness, and fans who insist they will continue to eat at the restaurants as long as they remain open.

Now it's your turn to sound off.
