Cheyenne Man Charged With Strangling Wife
A 23-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling his wife.
According to a booking sheet, Wayne Evan Dahl Jr. was arrested at 8:56 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, after police were called to his home for a reported prior domestic disturbance.
Dahl's wife reportedly told police that she and her husband had been involved in a physical altercation on Thursday, Feb. 8, during which he placed his left hand over her mouth and restricted her breathing for about 10 seconds.
Police say Dahl's wife told them she had to thrash her head left and right to continue to breathe and was finally able to scream and get away from him.
Dahl reportedly denied ever touching his wife, but police say they were able to confirm her story with multiple family members.
Dahl was arrested and subsequently charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor domestic battery.
He's currently out of jail on a $3,000 cash bond and is scheduled to be back in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 2:30 p.m. for his preliminary hearing.
