Up To Three Feet Of Snow Possible In SE Wyoming Mountains
A Winter Storm Warning has been posted for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range Mountains of southeast Wyoming, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.
The agency posted this statement on its website:
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Snowy and Sierra Madre Mountains from Friday morning through Monday afternoon. There are two main rounds of snowfall we are looking at: 1) Friday afternoon through Saturday and 2) Early Monday through Monday afternoon. Snow is forecast to become more widespread Sunday and Monday, resulting in accumulating snowfall outside of the highlighted areas. More details to come as we get closer to Sunday and Monday.

Good evening,The weather Impact Level for Friday into early Tuesday for elevated to high winds and prolonged mountain snow will be Moderate. Additionally, snow impacts across Southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle High Plains late Sunday into Monday plus blowing snow Tuesday will be Low to Moderate. |

- Active period ahead from Friday through next Tuesday with prolonged mountain snow, elevated to high winds, and High Plains snow late Sunday into next Monday Night.
- Upwards of 2-3 feet of snow forecast for Sierra Madre Mountain Range and 1-2 feet for Snowys mid-day Friday to Tuesday morning. Caution advised for recreationists/snowmobilers. Local mountain avalanche hazards could be possible next week.
- Winds will be elevated to high for Arlington/Elk Mountain along I-80 and the I-80 Summit to Bordeaux on I-25 tonight through Saturday. Localized blowing snow could reduce visibility.
- Light to moderate snow will spread to lower elevations of Southeast WY and Nebraska Panhandle late Sunday through Monday Evening. Winter Weather Advisories could be possible for several areas. Winds increase Tuesday and blowing snow/reduced visibilities could be possible - causing lingering impacts.
- High Wind Warnings/Watches for wind prone locations and Winter Storm Warnings for Sierra Madre and Snowy Mountains now in place.
