Trial Date Reset for Cheyenne Teen Charged in Drunk Driving Crash
A new trial date has been set for a Cheyenne teenager accused of seriously injuring a man while driving drunk.
Richard Wright, 18, was scheduled to go to trial next week, but Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell pushed it to May 13.
Wright is charged with DUI-serious bodily injury and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Police say Wright had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol after he T-boned Marc Woods at the intersection of N. College Drive and E. Pershing Boulevard on Nov. 26, 2018.
The crash sent both men to the hospital. Woods, who was unconscious and had to be extracted from his car, was flown to Swedish Medical Center in Colorado for his severe injuries.
