Eluding Police Leads to Multiple Charges for Cheyenne Man
A 35-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly eluding police, then, five days later, leading them on another pursuit and getting caught with drugs.
Eluding Police
According to court documents, it all started on Sunday, Jan. 4, after police attempted to stop Dino Zumbo and he failed to pull over.
Zumbo reportedly blew through one stop sign, nearly causing a collision, then failed to stop at another stop sign while on Lincolnway while the officer was hailing him further.
Another Pursuit
Then, on Friday, Jan. 9, Zumbo reportedly led police on another pursuit.
"Officers were able to conduct a high-risk traffic stop and take him into custody," Public Information Officer Alex Farkas told KGAB Radio.
According to a booking sheet, Zumbo was arrested at 12:30 a.m. on North College Drive at Campstool Way.
It's alleged that Zumbo was in possession of 14.84 grams of methamphetamine and 62.97 grams of liquid methamphetamine and was driving under the influence.
7 Charges
Zumbo was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged in one docket with three misdemeanors, including eluding and two stop sign violations; and in another docket with felony possession of methamphetamine and liquid methamphetamine, misdemeanor DUI, and misdemeanor eluding.
Initial Court Appearances
On Friday, Jan. 9, Zumbo was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the misdemeanor case.
The state recommended a $50,000 cash bond, noting Zumbo's long criminal history, including failures to appear, protection order violations, and interference with peace officers.
"He presents a clear danger to the community," the state said. "The sheer volume of drugs that were found in his possession is deeply concerning in addition to him operating a vehicle, him fleeing from law enforcement. I think it's a miracle that nobody was hurt."
Bond Set at $10K Cash
Chambers set bond at $10,000 cash and Zumbo's arraignment was set for Monday, Feb. 2, at 9:30 a.m.

On Monday, Jan. 12, Zumbo was seen in Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the felony case.
Forwood appointed Zumbo a public defender then asked the state for recommendation on bond.
"That's a substantial amount of liquid meth, and that in particular is a textbook threat to the community," the state said.
"The state has zero faith in this individual's ability to comply with court orders," the state added. "His conduct poses a clear danger and a clear threat to the community, and so the state would be asking for a $20,000 cash bond."
"Start the trial. Not guilty," said Zumbo. "There's a bunch of alleged things that aren't real that ... I'm not involved in, and this is bull----."
Bond Set at $20K Cash
"Okay," said Forwood, setting Zumbo's bond at $20,000 cash and his preliminary hearing for Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 1:30 p.m., and ordering he undergo daily testing at the Drug Testing Center of Cheyenne as part of his bond conditions.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
