Do remember when the Capital City was a 'fun city'? For Cheyenne kids in the '80s, Fun City Amusement Park in Lions Park was the spot for summer fun.

Robin Mosley was one of them. Her parents owned Fun City from 1984 until it closed in 1990.

"Fun City was my first job. I still remember all the rides," she said. "There was the Big Dipper, the Merry Mixer, Bumper Boats, and the Sloans Lake Showboat. We also had a Ferris Wheel and a carousel."

All that's left of Fun City these days is the miniature golf course. The old steamboat was destroyed in a fire before the park closed and the rides were eventually auctioned off. For some, the Kiwanis House and Lions Park Amphitheater, which stand in their place today, still take them back to those carefree summer days riding the roller coaster and train.

Fun fact: Wyoming was the first state to regulate roller coasters and carnival rides in 1929. Roller coasters weren't federally regulated until the Consumer Product Safety Commission was established in 1973.
