They’re Baack: Weed Eating Goats Return to Cheyenne

Two herds of goats are gobbling up weeds along Cheyenne's Crow and Dry Creeks as part of an effort to keep floodwaters down.

"The goats cut down on invasive weeds that can take over the watershed area," said city spokesman Michael Skinner.  "And in watershed areas their seeds are able to spread to a wider area."

"Utilizing goats for this purpose is also substantially less expensive than human labor," Skinner added.

The four-legged mowing crews, which are funded through the Fifth Penny Sales Tax, will be in Cheyenne for about a month.
