CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Cooler temperatures are slowing the flow of water from the melting mountain snowpack that is pouring into swollen rivers in Wyoming.

But residents in the Riverton area remained on notice to be ready to evacuate Saturday because the Wind River was still running at record highs.

Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator Kathi Metzler says the evacuation advisory likely will be lifted Sunday because of predictions that the river would slowly recede into Monday.

However, the National Weather Service is predicting rain Monday and Tuesday that could raise the river again.

Metzler says she still hasn't received any reports of homes or businesses being damaged by flooding.

Elsewhere, the Green River in southwest Wyoming and the South Fork of the Shoshone in Park County continued to cause flooding in rural areas.
