The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says there is a marginal chance for strong to severe storms in southeast Wyoming today.

Cheyenne and Laramie could also see snow overnight. While Cheyenne will probably get less than an inch of snow, Laramie could get four inches.

The agency posted the following on it's website early Thursday morning:

3am, April 27th- There is a Marginal (1 out of 5) risk for severe weather today as a cold front sweeps across southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle this afternoon and evening. Gusty winds are the primary concern with any severe storms that develop. Rain is expected to transition to snow during the overnight hours.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. High near 62. Windy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Rain and snow showers, becoming all snow after 10pm. Some thunder is also possible. Patchy blowing snow between midnight and 3am. Low around 28. Windy, with a north wind around 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
