Snow, Wind and Dangerous Travel to Continue Overnight

Snow and blowing snow will continue Wednesday night into Thursday morning for southeast Wyoming and into the Nebraska Panhandle. The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne says that the worst conditions will likely be over the Nebraska Panhandle. However, blowing snow will continue to be a concern in southeast Wyoming.

Snow is expected to end by Thursday afternoon with strong winds continuing through the day Thursday.

Travel could be very dangerous, especially in open areas, because of blowing and drifting snow. Also, as temperatures fall Wednesday evening slick conditions may develop.

The Blizzard Warning remains in effect for the Cheyenne, Wheatland, and Torrington areas, as well as western Nebraska until 3:00 PM on Thursday.

Snow will be highest in coverage and intensity over the Nebraska Panhandle through tonight, and then end by Thursday afternoon. Heaviest snow will occur through Thursday morning across the Nebraska Panhandle Pine Ridge area into Niobrara County. Strong north winds will create blowing snow and near whiteout conditions at times. Strong north winds will continue to produce possible blowing snow through Thursday afternoon and evening. -NWS Cheyenne
