Got plans for New Year's Eve? Once again this year, we're throwing Cheyenne's biggest bash in the historic downtown Depot plaza.

The festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with a free kid's party. We'll have games, crafts and activities inside the Depot for children of all ages. Then, at 6 p.m., we'll have a special fireworks show and ball drop just for the kids.

The Cheyenne First Night celebration begins at 8 p.m. in the Depot Museum and Asher Building, featuring live music from Lanthanum and Detonator, a DJ, food and libations. First Night tickets are $20 per person, with a half price discount for groups of five or more. Advanced tickets are on sale now at Ernie November on 217 W. Lincolnway or by calling (307) 632-6867.

Across the street in the Hynds Building, local band RedSwing will headline the LightsOn! concert, which also features Cheyenne favorites Sunnydale High and Elk Tongue, along with Denver based Arizona Pinstripe and The Swashbuckling Doctors from Fort Collins. Tickets for the concert are $8 $5 and will be available at the door [Note:Promoter has since increased the cost to cover additional expenses.] Proceeds will benefit the LightsOn! project, which provides space for local artists and musicians inside the historic building. Beer and wine will also be served with valid ID.

Then at midnight, thousands of revelers will gather in the Depot Plaza for the giant lighted ball drop and fireworks show. Admission is for the ball drop and fireworks extravaganza is free and all ages are welcome.
