The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning people about very high fire danger in some parts of SE Wyoming today.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for southwest Carbon County today starting at 11 am on Monday. The agency posted this statement on its website:

''A Red Flag Warning has been issued for southwest Carbon County for today, Monday August 12 from 11 AM to 7 PM MDT. Dry and windy conditions will allow dried out (cured) fuels to spread fire rapidly should any ignition source get going. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for the same area Tuesday. These dry and windy conditions will likely continue through much of the week. Outdoor burning is highly discouraged."
