Record Breaking Heat, 100 Degree Temperatures Possible SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning about temperatures at or near 100 degrees in many areas of southeast Wyoming later this week.
The agency says many areas could see high-temperature records broken in the expected heat wave.
With its higher elevation, forecasters say Laramie is expected to dodge the most intense heat, with highs only in the mid-to-upper 80s. But Cheyenne could approach to reach the 100-degree mark by Friday
The Cheyenne NWS posted the following on its website:
A gradual warming trend is expected through the work week, with very hot temperatures returning late in the week. Several locations east of the Laramie Range will see highs approaching and surpassing 100F. Friday and Saturday look to be the hottest days at this time. With several days in a row with very hot temperatures, overnight lows will only cool into the low- to mid-60s across the region with lows in the 70s across the Panhandle. Little to no precipitation is expected at this time. Now is the time to prepare for the incoming heat this weekend!
