The City of Cheyenne is looking for volunteers to serve on the city's Historic Preservation Board. City Planner Jim Flesher says board members will reveiw demolition permit applications involving historic buildings and work on various projects aimed at preserving the historic character of neighborhoods and buildings around Cheyenne. He says there are 11 members of the board, and a background or interest in historic preservation engineering or architecture would be helpful. Applications can be obtained by calling Flesher at (307) 637-6286 or at the city Municipal Building. The Mayor will appoint board members, and the new terms will begin on January 1, 2013. Flesher says people should expect to spend about 10 hours per month on board business, including a roughly 2 hour monthly meeting.
