Those responding to a Townsquare Media of Cheyenne poll over the past week narrowly voted in favor of allowing Laramie County School District#1 teachers to carry firearms.

But the yes votes only outnumbered the no votes by three percentage points, with 49 percent of respondents saying yes and 46m percent voting no out of almost 800 people taking the poll.

The rest of the people responding either said they didn't know or that they trust the school board to make the right decision is arming teachers in the district is ever formally proposed. So far, two Wyoming school districts, in Cody and Evanston, have voted to allow teachers and other district employees to carry firearms.

Campbell County school district in Gillette is reportedly considering the idea.
