Laramie County School District One officials unveiled a new, larger Goins Elementary School building on Friday, just in time for the upcoming school year. The new school was designed to meet the 16-1 student teacher ratio that state lawmakers have mandated for grades kindergarten through third grade. The new Goins building measures around  52,000 square feet, or about 20,ooo square feet larger than than the old Goins building, which has now been torn down. Besides being larger, the new Goins building has more windows and more open space to allow for work on group projects. The new building cost about $12 Million and took two years to complete, according to district officials.
