Two felony arrests have happened in Laramie this weekend.

February 26 at 9:57 pm, Laramie Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a theft in the 4300 block of Grand Ave.

30-year-old Gale M. Lachowicz was arrested and charged with Felony Theft and an additional misdemeanor as a result of the investigation.

Wyoming Statute 6-3-402(a)(c)(i) states a person is guilty of theft if he knowingly takes, obtains, procures, retains, or exercises control over or makes an unauthorized transfer of an interest in the property of another person without authorization or by threat or by deception. Felony Theft is punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten years, a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars, or both.

Later that day, at 5:34 am, officers were dispatched to 2100 block of Thornburg for a report of a domestic dispute.

Further investigation resulted in 37-year-old Jennifer S. Hamilton being arrested and charged with Strangulation of a Household Member.

Wyoming Statute 6-2-509 states a person is guilty of strangulation of a household member if he intentionally and knowingly or recklessly causes or attempts to cause bodily injury to a household member by impeding the normal breathing or circulation of blood by applying pressure on the throat or neck of the household member or blocking the nose and mouth of the household member.

Strangulation of a household member is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten years.

These are allegations at the time of this post, and the defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
