Rob Cleveland, who had served as the Director of the Cheyenne/ Laramie County Emergency Management Agency for 15 years, died on Thursday.

In addition to his time leading the EMA, Cleveland had worked for many years as a first responder in the area and was extremely well-known in the community.

His death was announced on Friday in a joint release from Cheyenne/Laramie County Emergency Management, the Laramie County Commission, and the City of Cheyenne.

A cause of death has not been formally announced, but Jeanine West of Laramie County Emergency Management said Friday that Cleveland had been battling cancer for quite some time. Funeral arrangements for Cleveland have not yet been announced.
