Legislative leaders in both parties responded to Governor Matt Mead's State of the State address to a joint session of the Wyoming Legislature Monday.

Senate President Tony Ross (SD-4) said the Governor's budget is sound, as is the budget from the Joint Appropriations Committee. Lawmakers may have a few minor differences, but he believes they will work things out. Senate Minority Floor Leader Senator Chris Rothfuss (SD-9) believes employee pay raises are key for the minority party.

House Speaker, Representative Tom Lubnau (HD-31), is glad to see there is an emphasis on protecting the state's mining industries, which provide about 75 percent of the state's revenue.

House Minority Floor Leader, Representative Mary Throne (HD-11), believes the legislature has to have a discussion about the state's entire revenue picture including savings.
