LCSD1 to Host Meeting to Discuss Tolerance, Cultural Proficiency
As part of its action plan following an investigation into bullying and harassment complaints at McCormick Junior High School, Laramie County School District 1 is hosting a community meeting to address tolerance and cultural proficiency.
The meeting will be held tomorrow, May 23, from 6-9 p.m. in Storey Gym, and will be facilitated by the U.S. Department of Justice-Community Relations Service.
"Community members are invited to attend and participate in small-group discussions," said LCSD1 spokeswoman Mary Quast. "The event is being held to increase education efforts regarding tolerance throughout Cheyenne."
The school district initiated an investigation after anti-gay, racist flyers were posted at McCormick on March 27.
