Laramie County Sheriff: Take A Trolley Home From Brewfest

The Laramie County Sheriff's Office wants people to know that folks drinking at the upcoming Cheyenne Brewers Festival on Friday and Saturday can take a trolley home to avoid drinking and driving.

That's according to a post on the LCSO Facebook page. The post includes the following comments ''LCSO wants to prevent crashes by sponsoring free rides from the Wyoming Brewers Festival to your home on the trolley. If you drive impaired, we will still give a ride, but to our house, and it won't be free. Just hop on the trolley when you are ready to go home.''

In the comments section below the post, the sheriff's office posted the following: ''Wyoming Brewers Festival, Presented by Cheyenne Motorsports , Governor's Council on Impaired Driving , Cheyenne Regional Medical Center , and the Cheyenne Police Department made the free rides possible and work with LCSO to prevent impaired driving crashes."

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department says officers will be watching for drunk drivers during the event. Alex Farkas told Townsquare Media via email ''Yes, Cheyenne Police will be increasing patrols and stationing the DUI command vehicle downtown to help keep everyone safe." 

About The Brewfest

The Brewers Festival is presented by Cheyenne Motorsports - June 14+15, 2024 on the Cheyenne Depot Plaza. General Admission 5p-10p / Friday, 6p-10p Saturday. VIP - 5p-10p Saturday. The festival will offer brews from breweries around the state and region.
