Update: Cheyenne Fire In Nationway Area Declared Extinguished
UPDATE: Cheyenne Fire Rescue says the fire has been declared extinguished, but CFR personnel remain in the area investigating the cause of the blaze and sureying the extent of the damage.
That's according to a post on the CFR Facebook page. The post goes on to say ''Nationway is now open for traffic. The 2400 blk of East 7th st. will remain closed.''
Original Post: Cheyenne Police are reporting a large fire near Nationway in Cheyenne.
CPD posted the following on its Facebook page:
There is a large fire in the area of Nationway and Hot Springs Ave.
Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.
Seek shelter if you are in the area for protection from smoke as it is covering a wide area.
Cheyenne Firefighters posted the following on their Facebook page:
***COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE FIRE IN THE AREA OF NATIONWAY AND HOT SPRINGS. AVOID THE AREA AS CREWS OPERATE***
The smoke of this fire is impacting the far north part of Cheyenne, as well. Smoke from structure fires is highly toxic; attempt to isolate from the outside air.
