Arrested for Public Intoxication
According to a booking sheet, Nora Elida Vega was arrested in the 1800 block of Fremont Avenue in Cheyenne at 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025.
Police say Vega was on a public roadway and said she believed there was a bomb inside of her. They say Vega told them she smoked methamphetamine prior to them contacting her.
Vega was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked for public intoxication.
Groin Attack
The following morning, Dec. 31, 2025, inmate Vega allegedly kicked a detention deputy in the groin.
She was subsequently charged with interference with a peace officer - injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Initial Court Appearance
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Vega was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the felony interference charge.
Williams appointed Vega a public defender and set her preliminary hearing for Friday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m.

Williams then asked for the state's position regarding bond.
"She kicked a deputy in the groin," the state said. "In light of that fact, the state would recommend a $10,000 cash bond."
Bond Set at $5K Cash
"Based on the nature of the offense and then Ms. Vega's contacts with this court and this jurisdiction, the court is going to go ahead and set a bond at $5,000 cash," said Williams.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
