Extreme fire danger has prompted the Laramie County Commissioners to impose a partial fire ban.

Laramie County Fire Warden Matt Butler says weather conditions are prime for grass fires in the county.

Under a partial ban, the discharge of fireworks and most outdoor fires are prohibited, but county residents can still grill out and burn their trash.

"With the partial you're allowed to burn, but only between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.," said Butler.

Butler says county residents can also have contained campfires and use off-road vehicles such as four-wheelers.  Welding and branding activities in cleared areas ten feet in radius are also permitted.

The fire danger will be monitored on a weekly basis and the ban will be lifted when conditions improve.
