Former Laramie County Commissioner Attempting 2026 Political Comeback
A long-time Laramie County conservative activist who once lead the local Tea Party movement is throwing his hat in the ring for the Laramie County Commission in 2026.
Republican M. Lee Hasenauer served for two years on the commission after he won a 2012 election to fill one of two seats he helped lobby for as part of an expanded commission.

But he lost a reelection bid on 2014, and subsequent runs for the commission in 2016 and 2018 likewise fell short. He applied to fill a mid-term vacancy on the commission in 2020, but was not chosen.
But in 2026 he's running again. On his Facebook page, Hasenauer writes
"M.Lee Hasenauer is back in the fight for the true bosses of Laramie County.
We launched our campaign for Laramie County commissioner.
I represent people first and government last:
Can't wait and I've already started talking to constituents: there's a trend in our country going on right now, and that's to rid ourselves of big government RINO's that are part of the good old boy system. It's the American voters that are fed up and replacing them with good conservative candidates.
Thank you for your support and your prayers and your votes.
In God, we trust, we're all Charlie Kirk's
Dedicate many memories to my friend KGAB radio host Dave Chaffin, who said this get involved and be part of the solution."
