PhotoFest Review! State Softball

The State Softball Tournament in Gillette went right down to the last half inning with Thunder Basin repeating as the state champion with a 9-8 win over Cheyenne East. Thunder Basin scored the first 6 runs of the title game with East responding with the next 6 runs. The Bolts added 2 runs and the T-Birds responded with 2 runs and it was an 8-8 game going into the top of the 7th. Kalissa Terrell drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the 7th for Thunder Basin and the Bolts hung in from there. They finished the season 22-4 and went 4-0 in the tournament. East went 3-2 at State and wrapped up the season 21-7.

Campbell County went 3-2 in the tourney and was 20-8 on the year Kelly Walsh and Cody went 1-2 with KW concluding the season at 17-4 and Cody at 18-7. Green River and Rock Springs went 0-2 and RS was 9-10 on the campaign while GR was 6-14. It was an exciting finish to the 2023 season, to say the least, and that's what playoff softball should be about.
