1 Dead, 3 Injured in Head-On Collision South of Laramie

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says driver inattention may be to blame for a head-on collision south of Laramie that left one person dead and three others injured.

It happened around 7:54 p.m. on June 25, 2024, at milepost 412 on U.S. 287, about five miles north of Tie Siding or 10 miles south of Laramie.

According to a fatality crash summary, 46-year-old Colorado resident Lorene Taylor was behind the wheel of a northbound Hyundai Elantra when she "entered the southbound lane in an attempt to overtake a sedan" and collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Ram 3500.

Taylor was wearing her seat belt but died from her injuries.

The pickup driver and two passengers were also injured in the crash, but the summary did not say to what extent.

Taylor is the 42nd reported person to die on Wyoming's highways so far this year.
