Cheyenne Woman Charged With Child Abuse
A 26-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly physically injuring a child.
Cheyenne Woman Wanted for Child Abuse Turns Herself In
According to a booking sheet, Janessa Nickoelle Owens turned herself in at the Laramie County Sheriff's Office on June 26, 2024, at about 8:32 a.m.
Owens was being sought on a warrant for child abuse, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The warrant was signed by Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams on May 31, 2024.
Owens was handcuffed and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident, where she was booked on her warrant.
Bond Set at $3K Cash for Alleged Child Abuser
Owens made her initial appearance in Circuit Court on June 27, 2024, during which her bond was set at $3,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 5, 2024, at 9 a.m.
