Wyoming took the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-21. The Matadors claimed the third set, 25-21, before the Cowgirls closed out the match in four with a score of 25-22.

Rylee Schulz led the way for Wyoming offensively, registering 15 kills to go alongside four digs. Tierney Barlow and Sarah Holcomb each recorded nine kills, while Corin Carruth managed seven kills.

Sierra Grizzle and Holly Eastridge logged 15 digs apiece to pace the Cowgirls in that department. Skylar Erickson added 13 digs.

Wyoming utilized a 7-1 run to carve its way out of an early hole and take an 11-8 edge after a pair of aces from Grizzle. The Cowgirls kept a two-point cushion from then on out, closing the set on a 3-0 run punctuated by a Barlow kill.

Wyoming trailed, once again, early on in the second set. CSUN led 13-10, however, a pair of aces from Barlow gave the Cowgirls a 16-15 advantage. The set drew even at 19-19 before the Cowgirls closed on a 6-2 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Following the Matadors victory in Set 3, Wyoming never trailed in the fourth and final frame. The Cowgirls started fast – leading 6-1 out of the gates – and even though it grew close at times, Wyoming concluded the match with three straight points for its ninth win of the season.

The Cowgirls return home for the UniWyo Invite. The Cowgirls open with Tennessee Tech on Thursday before playing Idaho State on Saturday.
