LARAMIE -- Jim Brandenburg, one of the most successful basketball coaches in Wyoming history, died Sunday. He was 87.

Brandenburg, who roamed the sidelines in Laramie for nine seasons, led the Cowboys to three NCAA appearances and the same number of WAC championships during his tenure. He recruited the likes of Fennis Dembo and Eric Leckner. Charles Bradley, Sean Dent, Bill Garnett, and many others, also played for "Brandy" on the high plains.
