A grass fire in the 300 block of West 15th Street on Union Pacific property burned about 2,500 square feet before Union Pacific employees and Cheyenne firefighters put out the short-lived fire.

Firefighters were called to the grass fire at 2:41 p.m.

A homeless person from the area was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center by American Medical Response.

Investigators say they don't know yet what caused the fire or how much damage it caused.
