UPDATE 3:50 p.m. The grass fire in the 6100 Block of Laramie Street in Cheyenne has been extinguished, according to Cheyenne Fire Rescue.

CFR posted the following on Facebook:

 The fire has been successfully extinguished and firefighters are currently checking for any potential hotspots. Thanks to a rapid response, no occupied buildings sustained any damage. The incident was a team response from CFR, Laramie County Fire District #1 & Laramie County Fire Authority. Also, thank you LCFA for the amazing drone footage!
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

 

Original Post: Cheyenne Fire Rescue says a crews have gained control over a fire the the 6100 Block of Laramie Street.

That's according to a post on the Cheyenne Fore Rescue Facebook page. The post says  "fencing, debris and vehicles are involved" and that firefighters are currently trying to put out the fire and protect structures in the area.

Meanwhile Cheyenne Police, on their Facebook page, says some street closures are in effect:

"Whitney Road is closed between Laramie Street and US-30
- Laramie Street is closed between Whitney Road and Saratoga Street.
Please avoid the area. Updates will be provided as they become available"
